evamukte bhagav¨¡n¨¡yuṣmantaṁ subh¨±timetadavocat- s¨¡dhu s¨¡dhu subh¨±te, evametatsubh¨±te, evametadyath¨¡ vadasi| anuparigṛh¨©t¨¡stath¨¡gatena bodhisattv¨¡ mah¨¡sattv¨¡ḥ parameṇ¨¡nugraheṇa| par¨©ndit¨¡stath¨¡gatena bodhisattv¨¡ mah¨¡sattv¨¡ḥ paramay¨¡ par¨©ndanay¨¡| tena hi subh¨±te śṛṇu, s¨¡dhu ca suṣṭhu ca manasi kuru, bh¨¡ṣiṣye'haṁ te-yath¨¡ bodhisattvay¨¡nasaṁprasthitena sth¨¡tavyaṁ yath¨¡ pratipattavyaṁ yath¨¡ cittaṁ pragrah¨©tavyam| evaṁ bhagavan ity¨¡yuṣy¨¡n subh¨±tirbhagavataḥ pratyaśrauṣ¨©t||2||

bhagav¨¡nasyaitadavocat-iha subh¨±te bodhisattvay¨¡nasaṁprasthitenaiva cittamutp¨¡dayitavyam-y¨¡vantaḥ subh¨±te sattv¨¡ḥ sattvadh¨¡tau sattvasaṁgraheṇa saṁgṛh¨©t¨¡ aṇḍaj¨¡ v¨¡ jar¨¡yuj¨¡ v¨¡ saṁsvedaj¨¡ v¨¡ aupap¨¡duk¨¡ v¨¡ r¨±piṇo v¨¡ ar¨±piṇo v¨¡ saṁjñino v¨¡ asaṁjñino v¨¡ naivasaṁjñino n¨¡saṁjñino v¨¡, y¨¡v¨¡n kaścitsattvadh¨¡tuḥ prajñapyam¨¡naḥ prajñapyate, te ca may¨¡ sarve'nupadhiśeṣe nirv¨¡ṇadh¨¡tau parinirv¨¡payitavy¨¡ḥ| evamaparim¨¡ṇ¨¡napi sattv¨¡n parinirv¨¡pya na kaścitsattvaḥ parinirv¨¡pito bhavati| tatkasya hetoḥ ? sacetsubh¨±te bodhisattvasya sattvasaṁjñ¨¡ pravarteta, na sa bodhisattva iti vaktavyaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ ? na sa subh¨±te bodhisattvo vaktavyo yasya sattvasaṁjñ¨¡ pravarteta, j¨©vasaṁjñ¨¡ v¨¡ pudgalasaṁjñ¨¡ va pravarteta||3||

api tu khalu punaḥ subhute na bodhisattvena vastupratiṣṭhitena d¨¡naṁ d¨¡tavyam, na kvacitpratiṣṭhitena d¨¡naṁ d¨¡tavyam| na r¨±papratiṣṭhitena d¨¡naṁ d¨¡tavyam| na śabdagandharasaspraṣṭavyadharmeṣu pratiṣṭhitena d¨¡naṁ d¨¡tavyam| evaṁ hi s¨±bh¨±te bodhisattvena mah¨¡sattvena d¨¡naṁ d¨¡tavyaṁ yath¨¡ na nimittasaṁjñ¨¡y¨¡mapi pratitiṣṭhet| tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaḥ subh¨±te bodhisattvo'pratiṣṭhito d¨¡naṁ dad¨¡ti, tasya subh¨±te puṇyaskandhasya na sukaraṁ pram¨¡ṇ¨¡mudgrah¨©tum| tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te sukaraṁ p¨±rvasy¨¡ṁ diśi ¨¡k¨¡śasya pram¨¡ṇamudgrah¨©tum ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- evaṁ dakṣiṇapaścimottar¨¡su adha ¨±rdhvaṁ digvidikṣu samant¨¡ddaśasu dikṣu sukaram¨¡k¨¡śasya pram¨¡ṇamudgrah¨©tum ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-evameva subh¨±te yo bodhisattvo'pratiṣṭhito d¨¡naṁ dad¨¡ti, tasya subh¨±te puṇyaskandhasya na sukaraṁ pram¨¡ṇamudgrah¨©tum| evaṁ hi subh¨±te bodhisattvay¨¡nasaṁprasthitena d¨¡naṁ d¨¡tavyaṁ yath¨¡ na nimittasaṁjñ¨¡y¨¡mapi pratitiṣṭhet||4||

tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te lakṣaṇasaṁpad¨¡ tath¨¡gato draṣṭavyaḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| na lakṣaṇasaṁpad¨¡ tath¨¡gato draṣṭavyaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ ? y¨¡ s¨¡ bhagavan lakṣaṇasaṁpattath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡ saiv¨¡lakṣaṇasaṁpat| evamukte bhagav¨¡n¨¡yuṣmantaṁ subh¨±timetadavocat y¨¡vatsubh¨±te lakṣaṇasaṁpat t¨¡vanmṛṣ¨¡, y¨¡vadalakṣaṇasaṁpat t¨¡vanna mṛṣeti hi lakṣaṇ¨¡lakṣaṇatastath¨¡gato draṣṭavyaḥ||5||

evamukte ¨¡yuṣm¨¡n subh¨±tirbhagavantametadavocat- asti bhagavan| kecitsattv¨¡ bhaviṣyantyan¨¡gate'dhvani paścime k¨¡le paścime samaye paścim¨¡y¨¡ṁ pañcaśaty¨¡ṁ saddharmavipralopak¨¡le vartam¨¡ne, ye imeṣvevaṁr¨±peṣu s¨±tr¨¡ntapadeṣu bh¨¡ṣyam¨¡ṇeṣu bh¨±tasaṁjñ¨¡mutp¨¡dayiṣyanti| api tu khalu punaḥ subh¨±te bhaviṣyantyan¨¡gate'dhvani bodhisattv¨¡ mah¨¡sattv¨¡ḥ paścime k¨¡le paścime samaye paścim¨¡y¨¡ṁ pañcaśaty¨¡ṁ saddharmavipralope vartam¨¡ne guṇavantaḥ ś¨©lavantaḥ prajñ¨¡vantaśca bhaviṣyanti, ye imeṣvevaṁr¨±peṣu s¨±tr¨¡ntapadeṣu bh¨¡ṣyam¨¡ṇeṣu bh¨±tasaṁjñ¨¡mutp¨¡adayiṣyanti| na khalu punaste subh¨±te bodhisattv¨¡ mah¨¡sattv¨¡ ekabuddhaparyup¨¡sit¨¡ bhaviṣyanti, naikabuddh¨¡varopitakuśalam¨±l¨¡ bhaviṣyanti| api tu khalu punaḥ subh¨±te anekabuddhaśatasahasraparyup¨¡sit¨¡ anekabuddhaśatasahasr¨¡varopitakuśalam¨±l¨¡ste bodhisattv¨¡ mah¨¡sattv¨¡ bhaviṣyanti, ye imeṣvevaṁr¨±peṣu s¨±tr¨¡ntapadeṣu bh¨¡ṣyam¨¡ṇeṣu ekacittapras¨¡damapi pratilapsyante| jñ¨¡t¨¡ste subh¨±te tath¨¡gatena buddhajñ¨¡nena, dṛṣṭ¨¡ste subh¨±te tath¨¡gatena buddhacakṣuṣ¨¡, buddh¨¡ste subh¨±te tath¨¡gatena| sarve te subh¨±te aprameyamasaṁkhyeyaṁ puṇyaskandhaṁ prasaviṣyanti pratigrah¨©ṣyanti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? na hi subh¨±te teṣ¨¡ṁ bodhisattv¨¡n¨¡ṁ mah¨¡sattv¨¡n¨¡m¨¡tmasaṁjñ¨¡ pravartate, na sattvasaṁjñ¨¡, na j¨©vasaṁjñ¨¡, na pudgalasaṁjñ¨¡ pravartate| n¨¡pi teṣ¨¡ṁ subh¨±te bodhisattv¨¡n¨¡ṁ mah¨¡sattv¨¡n¨¡ṁ dharmasaṁjñ¨¡ pravartate| evaṁ n¨¡dharmasaṁjñ¨¡| n¨¡pi teṣ¨¡ṁ subh¨±te saṁjñ¨¡ n¨¡saṁjñ¨¡ pravartate| tatkasya hetoḥ ? sacetsubh¨±te teṣ¨¡ṁ bodhisattv¨¡n¨¡ṁ mah¨¡sattv¨¡n¨¡ṁ dharmasaṁjñ¨¡ pravarteta, sa eva teṣ¨¡m¨¡tmagr¨¡ho bhavet, sattvagr¨¡ho j¨©vagr¨¡haḥ pudgalagr¨¡ho bhavet| sacedadharmasaṁjñ¨¡ pravarteta, sa eva teṣ¨¡m¨¡tmagr¨¡ho bhavet, sattvagr¨¡ho j¨©vagr¨¡haḥ pudgalagr¨¡ha iti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? na khalu punaḥ subh¨±te bodhisattvena mah¨¡sattvena dharma udgrah¨©tavyo n¨¡dharmaḥ| tasm¨¡diyaṁ tath¨¡gatena saṁdh¨¡ya v¨¡gbh¨¡ṣit¨¡-kolopamaṁ dharmapary¨¡yam¨¡j¨¡nadbhidharm¨¡ eva prah¨¡tavy¨¡ḥ pr¨¡gev¨¡dharm¨¡ iti||6||

punaraparaṁ bhagav¨¡n¨¡yuṣmantaṁ subh¨±timetadavocat- tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te, asti sa kaściddharmo yastath¨¡gaten¨¡nuttar¨¡ samyaksaṁbodhirityabhisaṁbuddhaḥ, kaścidv¨¡ dharmastath¨¡gatena deśitaḥ ? evamukte ¨¡yuṣm¨¡n subh¨±tirbhagavantametadavocat-yath¨¡haṁ bhagavan bhagavato bh¨¡ṣitasy¨¡rtham¨¡j¨¡n¨¡mi, n¨¡sti sa kaściddharmo yastath¨¡gatena anuttar¨¡ samyaksaṁbodhirityabhisaṁbuddhaḥ, n¨¡sti dharmo yastath¨¡gatena deśitaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ ? yo'sau tath¨¡gatena dharmo'bhisaṁbuddho deśito v¨¡, agr¨¡hyaḥ so'nabhilapyaḥ| na sa dharmo n¨¡dharmaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ ? asaṁskṛtaprabh¨¡vit¨¡ hy¨¡ryapudgal¨¡ḥ||7||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te yaḥ kaścitkulaputro v¨¡ kuladuhit¨¡ v¨¡ imaṁ tris¨¡hasramah¨¡s¨¡hasraṁ lokadh¨¡tuṁ saptaratnaparip¨±rṇaṁ kṛtv¨¡ tath¨¡gatebhyo'rhadbhayaḥ samyaksaṁbuddhebhyo d¨¡naṁ dady¨¡t, api nu sa kulaputro v¨¡ kuladuhit¨¡ v¨¡ tatonid¨¡naṁ bahu puṇyaskandhaṁ prasunuy¨¡t| subh¨±tir¨¡ha-bahu bhagavan, bahu sugata sa kulaputro v¨¡ kuladuhit¨¡ v¨¡ tatonid¨¡naṁ puṇyaskandhaṁ prasunuy¨¡t| tatkasya hetoḥ ? yo'sau bhagavan puṇyaskandhastath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ, askandhaḥ sa tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ| tasm¨¡ttath¨¡gato bh¨¡ṣate- puṇyaskandhaḥ puṇyaskandha iti| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-yaśca khalu punaḥ subh¨±te kulaputro v¨¡ kuladuhit¨¡ va imaṁ tris¨¡hasramah¨¡s¨¡hasraṁ lokadh¨¡tuṁ saptaratnaparip¨±rṇaṁ kṛtv¨¡ tath¨¡gatebhyo'rhadbhyaḥ samyaksaṁbuddhebhyo d¨¡naṁ dady¨¡t, yaśca ito dharmapary¨¡y¨¡dantaśaścatuṣp¨¡dik¨¡mapi g¨¡th¨¡mudgṛhya parebhyo vistareṇa deśayet saṁprak¨¡śayet, ayameva tatonid¨¡naṁ bahutaraṁ puṇyaskandhaṁ prasunuy¨¡daprameyasaṁkhyeyam| tatkasya hetoḥ ? atonirj¨¡t¨¡ hi subh¨±te tath¨¡gat¨¡n¨¡marhat¨¡ṁ samyaksaṁbuddh¨¡n¨¡manuttar¨¡ samyaksaṁbodhiḥ, atonirj¨¡t¨¡śca buddh¨¡ bhagavantaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ ? buddhadharm¨¡ buddhadharm¨¡ iti subh¨±te abuddhadharm¨¡ścaiva te tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡ḥ| tenocyante buddhadharm¨¡ iti||8||

tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te api nu srota¨¡pannasyaivaṁ bhavati-may¨¡ srota¨¡pattiphalaṁ pr¨¡ptamiti? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| na srota¨¡pannasyaivaṁ bhavati-may¨¡ srota¨¡pattiphalaṁ pr¨¡ptamiti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? na hi sa bhagavan kaṁciddharmam¨¡pannaḥ, tenocyate srota¨¡panna iti| na r¨±pam¨¡panno na śabd¨¡n na gandh¨¡n na ras¨¡n na spraṣṭavy¨¡n dharm¨¡n¨¡pannaḥ| tenocyate srota¨¡panna iti| sacedbhagavan srota¨¡pannasyaivaṁ bhavet- may¨¡ srota¨¡pattiphalaṁ pr¨¡ptamiti, sa eva tasy¨¡tmagr¨¡ho bhavet, sattvagr¨¡ho j¨©vagr¨¡haḥ pudgalagr¨¡ho bhavediti||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- takiṁ manyase subh¨±te api nu sakṛd¨¡g¨¡mina evaṁ bhavati-may¨¡ sakṛd¨¡g¨¡miphalaṁ pr¨¡ptamiti ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| sa sakṛd¨¡g¨¡mina evaṁ bhavati-may¨¡ sakṛd¨¡g¨¡miphalaṁ pr¨¡ptamiti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? na hi sa kaściddharmo yaḥ sakṛd¨¡g¨¡mitvam¨¡pannaḥ| tenocyate sakṛd¨¡g¨¡m¨©ti||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te api nu an¨¡g¨¡mina evaṁ bhavati-may¨¡n¨¡g¨¡miphalaṁ pr¨¡ptamiti ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| na an¨¡g¨¡mina evaṁ bhavati-may¨¡ an¨¡g¨¡miphalaṁ pr¨¡ptamiti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? na hi sa bhagavan kaściddharmo yo'n¨¡g¨¡mitvam¨¡pannaḥ| tenocyate an¨¡g¨¡m¨©ti||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te api nu arhata evaṁ bhavati-may¨¡ arhattvaṁ pr¨¡ptamiti ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| n¨¡rhata evaṁ bhavati-may¨¡ arhattvaṁ pr¨¡ptamiti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? na hi sa bhagavan kaściddharmo yo'rhann¨¡ma| tenocyate-arhanniti| sacedbhagavan arhata evaṁ bhavet-may¨¡ arhattvaṁ pr¨¡ptamiti, sa eva tasy¨¡tmagr¨¡ho bhavet, sattvagr¨¡ho j¨©vagr¨¡haḥ pudgalagr¨¡ho bhavet| tatkasya hetoḥ ? ahamasmi bhagavaṁstath¨¡gaten¨¡rhat¨¡ samyaksaṁbuddhena araṇ¨¡vih¨¡riṇ¨¡magryo nirdiṣṭaḥ| ahamasmi bhagavan arhan v¨©tar¨¡gaḥ| na ca me bhagavannevaṁ bhavati- arhannasmyahaṁ v¨©tar¨¡ga iti| sacenmama bhagavannevaṁ bhavet-may¨¡ arhattvaṁ pr¨¡ptamiti, na m¨¡ṁ tath¨¡gato vy¨¡kariṣyadaraṇ¨¡vih¨¡riṇ¨¡magryaḥ subh¨±tiḥ kulaputro na kvacidviharati, tenocyate araṇ¨¡vih¨¡r¨© araṇ¨¡vih¨¡r¨©ti||9||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te-asti sa kaściddharmo yastath¨¡gatena d¨©paṁkarasya tath¨¡gatasy¨¡rhata-samyaksaṁbuddhasy¨¡ntik¨¡dudgṛh¨©taḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha- no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| n¨¡sti sa kaściddharmo yastath¨¡gatena d¨©paṁkarasya tath¨¡gatasy¨¡rhataḥ samyaksaṁbuddhasy¨¡ntik¨¡dudgṛh¨©taḥ||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-yaḥ kaścitsubh¨±te bodhisattva evaṁ vadet-ahaṁ kṣetravy¨±h¨¡n niṣp¨¡dayiṣy¨¡m¨©ti, sa vitathaṁ vadet| tatkasya hetoḥ ? kṣetravy¨±h¨¡ḥ kṣetravy¨±h¨¡ iti subh¨±te avy¨±h¨¡ste tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡ḥ| tenocyante kṣetravy¨±h¨¡ iti| tasm¨¡ttarhi subh¨±te bodhisattvena mah¨¡sattvena evamapratiṣṭhitaṁ cittamutp¨¡dayitavyaṁ yanna kvacitpratiṣṭhitaṁ cittamutp¨¡dayitavyam| na r¨±papratiṣṭhitaṁ cittamutp¨¡dayitavyaṁ na śabdagandharasaspraṣṭavyadharmapratiṣṭhitaṁ cittamutp¨¡dayitavyam| tadyath¨¡pi n¨¡ma subh¨±te puruṣo bhavedupetak¨¡yo mah¨¡k¨¡yo yattasyaivaṁ r¨±pa ¨¡tmabh¨¡vaḥ sy¨¡t tadyath¨¡pi n¨¡ma sumeruḥ parvatar¨¡jaḥ| tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te api nu mah¨¡n sa ¨¡tmabh¨¡vo bhavet ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-mah¨¡n sa bhagav¨¡n, mah¨¡n sugata sa ¨¡tmabh¨¡vo bhavet| tatkasya hetoḥ ? ¨¡tmabh¨¡va ¨¡tmabh¨¡va iti bhagavan na bh¨¡vaḥ sa tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ| tenocyata ¨¡tmabh¨¡va iti| na hi bhagavan sa bh¨¡vo n¨¡bh¨¡vaḥ| tenocyate ¨¡tmabh¨¡va iti||10||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te-y¨¡vatyo gaṅg¨¡y¨¡ṁ mah¨¡nady¨¡ṁ v¨¡luk¨¡st¨¡vatya eva gaṅg¨¡nadyo bhaveyuḥ ? t¨¡su y¨¡ v¨¡luk¨¡ḥ, api nu t¨¡ bahvayo bhaveyuḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-t¨¡ eva t¨¡vadbhagavan bahvayo gaṅg¨¡nadyo bhaveyuḥ, pr¨¡geva y¨¡st¨¡su gaṅg¨¡nad¨©ṣu v¨¡luk¨¡ḥ| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- ¨¡rocay¨¡mi te subh¨±te, prativeday¨¡mi te| y¨¡vatyast¨¡su gaṅg¨¡nad¨©ṣu v¨¡luk¨¡ bhaveyust¨¡vato lokadh¨¡t¨±n kaścideva str¨© v¨¡ puruṣo v¨¡ saptaratnaparipurṇaṁ kṛtv¨¡ tath¨¡gatebhyo'rhadbhayaḥ samyaksaṁbuddhebhyo d¨¡naṁ dady¨¡t, tat kiṁ manyase subh¨±te-api nu s¨¡ str¨© v¨¡ puruṣo v¨¡ tatonid¨¡naṁ bahu puṇyaskandhaṁ prasunuy¨¡t ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-bahu bhagavan, bahu sugata str¨© v¨¡ puruṣo v¨¡ tatonid¨¡naṁ puṇyaskandhaṁ prasunuy¨¡daprameyamasaṁkhyeyam| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- yaśca khalu punaḥ subh¨±te str¨© v¨¡ puruṣo v¨¡ t¨¡vato lokadh¨¡t¨±n saptaratnaparip¨±rṇaṁ kṛtv¨¡ tath¨¡gatebhyo'rhadbhayaḥ samyaksaṁbuddhebhyo d¨¡naṁ dady¨¡t, yaśca kulaputro v¨¡ kuladuhit¨¡ v¨¡ ito dharmapary¨¡y¨¡dantaśaścatuṣp¨¡dik¨¡mapi g¨¡th¨¡mudgṛhya parebhyo deśayet saṁprak¨¡śayet, ayameva tatonid¨¡naṁ bahutaraṁ puṇyaskandhaṁ prasunuy¨¡daprameyamasaṁkhyeyam||11||

api tu khalu punaḥ subhute yasmin pṛthiv¨©pradeśe ito dharmapary¨¡y¨¡dantaśaścatuṣp¨¡dik¨¡mapi g¨¡th¨¡mudgṛhya bh¨¡ṣyeta v¨¡ saṁprak¨¡śyeta v¨¡, sa pṛthiv¨©pradeśaścaityabh¨±to bhavet sadevam¨¡nuṣ¨¡surasya lokasya, kaḥ punarv¨¡do ye imaṁ dharmapary¨¡yaṁ sakalasam¨¡ptaṁ dh¨¡rayiṣyanti v¨¡cayiṣyanti paryav¨¡psyanti, parebhyaśca vistareṇa saṁprak¨¡śayiṣyanti| parameṇa te subh¨±te ¨¡ścaryeṇa samanv¨¡gat¨¡ bhaviṣyanti| tasmiṁśca subh¨±te pṛthiv¨©pradeśe ś¨¡st¨¡ viharatyanyatar¨¡nyataro v¨¡ vijñagurusth¨¡n¨©yaḥ||12||

evamukte ¨¡yuṣm¨¡n subh¨±tirbhagavantametadavocat-ko n¨¡ma ayaṁ bhagavan dharmapary¨¡yaḥ, kathaṁ cainaṁ dh¨¡ray¨¡mi ? evamukte bhagav¨¡n¨¡yuṣmantaṁ subh¨±timetadavocat- prajñ¨¡p¨¡ramit¨¡ n¨¡m¨¡yaṁ subh¨±te dharmapary¨¡yaḥ| evaṁ cainaṁ dh¨¡raya| tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaiva subh¨±te prajñ¨¡p¨¡ramit¨¡ tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡, saiva ap¨¡ramit¨¡ tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡| tenocyate prajñ¨¡p¨¡ramiteti||

tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te-api nu asti sa kaściddharmo yastath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| n¨¡sti sa kaściddharmo yastath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te-y¨¡vat tris¨¡hasramah¨¡s¨¡hasre lokadh¨¡tau pṛthiv¨©rajaḥ kaccit, tadbahu bhavet ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-bahu bhagavan, bahu sugata pṛthiv¨©rajo bhavet| tatkasya hetoḥ ? yattadbhagavan pṛthiv¨©rajastath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitam, arajastadbhagavaṁstath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitam| tenocyate pṛthiv¨©raja iti| yo'pyasau lokadh¨¡tustath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ, adh¨¡tuḥ sa tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ| tenocyate lokadh¨¡turiti||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te dv¨¡triṁśanmah¨¡puruṣalakṣaṇaistath¨¡gato'rhan samyaksaṁbuddho draṣṭavyaḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| dv¨¡triṁśanmah¨¡puruṣalakṣaṇaistath¨¡gato'rhan samyaksaṁbuddho draṣṭavyaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ ? y¨¡ni hi t¨¡ni bhagavan dv¨¡triṁśanmah¨¡puruṣalakṣaṇ¨¡ni tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡ni, alakṣaṇ¨¡ni t¨¡ni bhagavaṁstath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡ni| tenocyante dv¨¡triṁśanmah¨¡puruṣalakṣaṇ¨¡n¨©ti||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-yaśca khalu punaḥ subh¨±te str¨© v¨¡ puruṣo v¨¡ dine dine gaṅg¨¡nad¨©v¨¡luk¨¡sam¨¡n¨¡tmabh¨¡v¨¡n parityajet, evaṁ parityajan gaṅg¨¡nad¨©v¨¡luk¨¡sam¨¡n kalp¨¡ṁst¨¡n¨¡tmabh¨¡v¨¡n parityajet, yaśca ito dharmapary¨¡yadantaśaścatuṣp¨¡dik¨¡mapi g¨¡th¨¡mudgṛhyaparebhyo deśayet saṁprak¨¡śayet, ayameva tatonid¨¡naṁ bahutaraṁ puṇyaskandhaṁ prasunuy¨¡daprameyamasaṁkhyeyam||13||

atha khalv¨¡yuṣm¨¡n subh¨±tirdharmavegen¨¡śr¨±ṇi pr¨¡muñcat| so'śr¨±ṇi pramṛjya bhagavantametadavocat-¨¡ścaryaṁ bhagavan, param¨¡ścaryaṁ sugata, y¨¡vadayaṁ dharmapary¨¡yastath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣito'gray¨¡nasaṁprasthit¨¡n¨¡ṁ sattv¨¡n¨¡marth¨¡ya, śreṣṭhay¨¡nasaṁprasthit¨¡n¨¡marth¨¡ya, yato me bhagavan jñ¨¡namutpannam| na may¨¡ bhagavan j¨¡tvevaṁr¨±po dharmapary¨¡yaḥ śrutap¨±rvaḥ| parameṇa te bhagavan ¨¡ścaryeṇa samanv¨¡gat¨¡ bodhisattv¨¡ bhaviṣyanti, ye iha s¨±tre bh¨¡ṣyam¨¡ṇe śrutv¨¡ bh¨±tasaṁjñ¨¡mutp¨¡dayiṣyanti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? y¨¡ caiṣ¨¡ bhagavan bh¨±tasaṁjñ¨¡, saiva abh¨±tasaṁjñ¨¡| tasm¨¡ttath¨¡gato bh¨¡ṣatebh¨±tasaṁjñ¨¡ bh¨±tasaṁjñeti||

na mama bhagavan ¨¡ścaryaṁ yadahamimaṁ dharmapary¨¡yaṁ bh¨¡ṣyam¨¡ṇamavakalpay¨¡mi adhimucye| ye'pi te bhagavan sattv¨¡ bhaviṣyantyan¨¡gate'dhvani paścime k¨¡le paścime samaye paścim¨¡y¨¡ṁ pañcaśaty¨¡ṁ saddharmavipralope vartam¨¡ne, ye imaṁ bhagavan dharmapary¨¡yamudgrah¨©ṣyanti dh¨¡rayiṣyanti v¨¡cayiṣyanti paryav¨¡psyanti, parebhyaśca vistareṇa saṁprak¨¡śayiṣyanti, te param¨¡ścaryeṇa samanv¨¡gat¨¡ bhaviṣyanti| api tu khalu punarbhagavan na teṣ¨¡m¨¡tmasaṁjñ¨¡ pravartiṣyate, na sattvasaṁjñ¨¡ na j¨©vasaṁjñ¨¡ na pudgalasaṁjñ¨¡ pravartiṣyate, n¨¡pi teṣ¨¡ṁ k¨¡citsaṁjñ¨¡ n¨¡saṁjñ¨¡ pravartate| tatkasya hetoḥ ? y¨¡ s¨¡ bhagavan ¨¡tmasaṁjñ¨¡, saiv¨¡saṁjñ¨¡| y¨¡ sattvasaṁjñ¨¡ j¨©vasaṁjñ¨¡ pudgalasaṁjñ¨¡, saiv¨¡saṁjñ¨¡| tatkasya hetoḥ ? sarvasaṁjñ¨¡pagat¨¡ hi buddha bhagavantaḥ||

evamukte bhagav¨¡n¨¡yuṣmantaṁ subh¨±timetadavocat-evametat subh¨±te, evametat| param¨¡ścaryasamanv¨¡gat¨¡ste sattv¨¡ bhaviṣyanti, ye iha subh¨±te s¨±tre bh¨¡ṣyam¨¡ṇe notrasiṣyanti na saṁtrasiṣyanti na saṁtr¨¡sam¨¡patsyante| tatkasya hetoḥ ? paramap¨¡ramiteyaṁ subh¨±te tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡ yadut¨¡p¨¡ramit¨¡| y¨¡ṁ ca subh¨±te tath¨¡gataḥ paramap¨¡ramit¨¡ṁ bh¨¡ṣate, t¨¡maparim¨¡ṇ¨¡ api buddh¨¡ bhagavanto bh¨¡ṣante| tenocyante paramap¨¡ramiteti||

api tu khalu punaḥ subhute y¨¡ tath¨¡gatasya kṣ¨¡ntip¨¡ramit¨¡, saiva ap¨¡ramit¨¡| tatkasya hetoḥ ? yad¨¡ me subh¨±te kalir¨¡j¨¡ aṅgapratyaṅgam¨¡ṁs¨¡nyacchaits¨©t, n¨¡s¨©nme tasmin samaye ¨¡tmasaṁjñ¨¡ v¨¡ sattvasaṁjñ¨¡ v¨¡ j¨©vasaṁjñ¨¡ v¨¡ pudgalasaṁjñ¨¡ v¨¡, n¨¡pi me k¨¡citsaṁjñ¨¡ v¨¡ asaṁjñ¨¡ v¨¡ babh¨±va| tatkasya hetoḥ ? sacenme subh¨±te tasmin samaye ¨¡tmasaṁjñ¨¡ abhaviṣyat, vy¨¡p¨¡dasaṁjñ¨¡pi me tasmin samaye'bhaviṣyat| sacetsattvasaṁjñ¨¡ j¨©vasaṁjñ¨¡ pudgalasaṁjñ¨¡bhaviṣyat, vy¨¡p¨¡dasaṁjñ¨¡pi me tasmin samaye'bhaviṣyat| tatkasya hetoḥ ? abhij¨¡n¨¡myahaṁ subh¨±te at¨©te'dhvani pañca j¨¡tiśat¨¡ni yadahaṁ kṣ¨¡ntiv¨¡d¨© ṛṣirabh¨±vam| tatr¨¡pi me n¨¡tmasaṁjñ¨¡ babh¨±va, na sattvasaṁjñ¨¡, na j¨©vasaṁjñ¨¡, na pudgalasaṁjñ¨¡ babh¨±va| tasm¨¡ttarhi subh¨±te bodhisattvena mah¨¡sattvena sarvasaṁjñ¨¡ vivarjayitv¨¡ anuttar¨¡y¨¡ṁ samyaksaṁbodhau cittamutp¨¡dayitavyam| na r¨±papratiṣṭhitaṁ cittamutp¨¡dayitavyam, na śabdagandharasaspraṣṭavyadharmapratiṣṭhitaṁ cittamutp¨¡dayitavyam, na dharmapratiṣṭhitaṁ cittamutp¨¡dayitavyam, n¨¡dharmapratiṣṭhitaṁ cittamutp¨¡dayitavyam, na kvacitpratiṣṭhitaṁ cittamutp¨¡dayitavyam| tatkasya hetoḥ ? yatpratiṣṭhitaṁ tadev¨¡pratiṣṭhitam| tasm¨¡deva tath¨¡gato bh¨¡ṣate-apratiṣṭhitena bodhisattvena d¨¡naṁ d¨¡tavyam| na r¨±paśabdagandharasasparśadharmapratiṣṭhitena d¨¡naṁ d¨¡tavyam||

api tu khalu punaḥ subh¨±te bodhisattvena evaṁr¨±po d¨¡naparity¨¡gaḥ kartavyaḥ sarvasattv¨¡n¨¡marth¨¡ya| tatkasya hetoḥ ? y¨¡ caiṣ¨¡ subh¨±te sattvasaṁjñ¨¡, saiva asaṁjñ¨¡| ya evaṁ te sarvasattv¨¡stath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡sta eva asattv¨¡ḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ ? bh¨±tav¨¡d¨© subh¨±te tath¨¡gataḥ, satyav¨¡d¨© tath¨¡v¨¡d¨© ananyath¨¡v¨¡d¨© tath¨¡gataḥ, na vitathav¨¡d¨© tath¨¡gataḥ||

api tu khalu punaḥ subh¨±te yastath¨¡gatena dharmo'bhisaṁbuddho deśito nidhy¨¡taḥ, na tatra satyaṁ na mṛṣ¨¡| tadyath¨¡pi n¨¡ma subh¨±te puruṣo'ndhak¨¡rapraviṣṭo na kiṁcidapi paśyet, evaṁ vastupatito bodhisattvo draṣṭavyo yo vastupatito d¨¡naṁ parityajati| tadyath¨¡pi n¨¡ma subh¨±te cakṣuṣm¨¡n puruṣaḥ prabh¨¡t¨¡y¨¡ṁ r¨¡trau s¨±rye'bhyudgate n¨¡navidh¨¡ni r¨±p¨¡ṇi paśyet, evamavastupatito bodhisattvo draṣṭavyo yo'vastupatito d¨¡naṁ parityajati||

api tu khalu punaḥ subh¨±te ye kulaputr¨¡ v¨¡ kuladuhitaro v¨¡ imaṁ dharmapary¨¡yamudgrah¨©ṣyanti dh¨¡rayiṣyanti v¨¡cayiṣyanti paryav¨¡psyanti, parebhyaśca vistareṇa saṁprak¨¡śayiṣyanti, jñ¨¡t¨¡ste subh¨±te tath¨¡gatena buddhajñ¨¡nena, dṛṣṭ¨¡ste subh¨±te tath¨¡gatena buddhacakṣuṣ¨¡, buddh¨¡ste tath¨¡gatena| sarve te subh¨±te sattv¨¡ aprameyamasaṁkhyeyaṁ puṇyaskandhaṁ prasaviṣyanti pratigrah¨©ṣyanti||14||

yaśca khalu punaḥ subh¨±te str¨© v¨¡ puruṣo v¨¡ purv¨¡hṇak¨¡lasamaye gaṅg¨¡nad¨©v¨¡luk¨¡sam¨¡n¨¡tmabh¨¡v¨¡n parityajet, evaṁ madhy¨¡hnak¨¡lasamaye gaṅg¨¡nad¨©v¨¡luk¨¡sam¨¡n¨¡tmabh¨¡v¨¡n parityajet, s¨¡y¨¡hnak¨¡lasamaye gaṅg¨¡nad¨©v¨¡luk¨¡sam¨¡n¨¡tmabh¨¡v¨¡n parityajet, anena pary¨¡yeṇa bah¨±ni kalpakoṭiniyutaśatasahasr¨¡ṇy¨¡tmabh¨¡v¨¡n parityajet, yaścemaṁ dharmapary¨¡yaṁ śrutv¨¡ na pratikṣipet, ayameva tatonid¨¡naṁ bahutaraṁ puṇyaskandhaṁ prasunuy¨¡daprameyamasaṁkhyeyam, kaḥ punarv¨¡do yo likhitv¨¡ udgṛhṇ¨©y¨¡ddh¨¡rayedv¨¡cayetparyav¨¡pnuy¨¡t, parebhyaśca vistareṇa saṁprak¨¡śayet||

api tu khalu punaḥ subh¨±te acintyo'tulyo'yaṁ dharmapary¨¡yaḥ| ayaṁ ca subh¨±te dharmapary¨¡yastath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣito'gray¨¡nasaṁprasthit¨¡n¨¡ṁ sattv¨¡n¨¡marth¨¡ya, śreṣṭhay¨¡nasaṁprasthit¨¡n¨¡ṁ sattv¨¡n¨¡marth¨¡ya| ye imaṁ dharmapary¨¡yamudgrah¨©ṣyanti dh¨¡rayiṣyanti v¨¡cayiṣyanti paryav¨¡psyanti, parebhyaśca vistareṇa saṁprak¨¡śayiṣyanti, jñ¨¡t¨¡ste subh¨±te tath¨¡gatena buddhajñ¨¡nena, dṛṣṭ¨¡ste subh¨±te tath¨¡gatena buddhacakṣuṣ¨¡, buddh¨¡ste tath¨¡gatena| sarve te subh¨±te sattv¨¡ aprameyeṇa puṇyaskandhen¨¡ṁ samanv¨¡gat¨¡ bhaviṣyanti| acintyen¨¡tulyen¨¡m¨¡pyen¨¡parim¨¡ṇena puṇyaskandhena samanv¨¡gat¨¡ bhaviṣyanti| sarve te subh¨±te sattv¨¡ḥ sam¨¡ṁśena bodhiṁ dh¨¡rayiṣyanti vacayiṣyanti paryav¨¡psyanti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? na hi śakyaṁ subh¨±te ayaṁ dharmapary¨¡yo h¨©n¨¡dhimuktiakaiḥ sattvaiḥ śrotum, n¨¡tmadṛṣṭikairna sattvadṛṣṭikairna j¨©vadṛṣṭikairna pudgaladṛṣṭikaiḥ| n¨¡bodhisattvapratijñai sattvaiḥ śakyamayaṁ dharmapary¨¡yaḥ śrotuṁ v¨¡ udgrah¨©tuṁ v¨¡ dh¨¡rayituṁ v¨¡ v¨¡cayituṁ v¨¡ paryav¨¡ptuṁ v¨¡| nedaṁ sth¨¡naṁ vidyate||

api tu khalu punaḥ subh¨±te yatra pṛthiv¨©pradeśe idaṁ s¨±traṁ prakaśayiṣyate, p¨±jan¨©yaḥ sa pṛthiv¨©pradeśo bhaviṣyati sadevam¨¡nuṣ¨¡surasya lokasya| vandan¨©yaḥ pradakṣiṇ¨©yaśca sa pṛthiv¨©pradeśo bhaviṣyati, caityabh¨±taḥ sa pṛthiv¨©pradeśo bhaviṣyati||15||

api tu ye te subh¨±te kulaputr¨¡ v¨¡ kuladuhitaro v¨¡ im¨¡nevaṁr¨±p¨¡n s¨±tr¨¡nt¨¡nudgrah¨©ṣyanti dh¨¡rayiṣyanti v¨¡cayiṣyanti paryav¨¡psyanti, yoniśaśca manasikariṣyanti, parebhyaśca vistareṇa saṁprak¨¡śayiṣyanti, te paribh¨±t¨¡ bhaviṣyanti, suparibh¨±t¨¡śca bhaviṣyanti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? y¨¡ni ca teṣ¨¡ṁ subh¨±te sattv¨¡n¨¡ṁ paurvajanmik¨¡nyaśubh¨¡ni karm¨¡ṇi kṛt¨¡nyap¨¡yasaṁvartan¨©y¨¡ni, dṛṣṭa eva dharme paribh¨±tatay¨¡ t¨¡ni paurvajanmik¨¡nyaśubh¨¡ni karm¨¡ṇi kṣapayiṣyanti, buddhabodhiṁ c¨¡nupr¨¡psyanti||

abhij¨¡n¨¡myahaṁ subh¨±te at¨©te'dhvanyasaṁkhyeyaiḥ kalpairasaṁkhyeyataraird¨©paṁkarasya tath¨¡gatasy¨¡rhataḥ samyaksaṁbuddhasya pareṇa paratareṇa caturaś¨©tibuddhakoṭiniyutaśatasahasr¨¡ṇyabh¨±van ye may¨¡r¨¡git¨¡ḥ, ¨¡r¨¡gya na vir¨¡git¨¡ḥ| yacca may¨¡ subh¨±te te buddh¨¡ bhagavanta ¨¡r¨¡git¨¡ḥ, ¨¡r¨¡gya na vir¨¡git¨¡ḥ, yacca paścime k¨¡le paścime samaye paścim¨¡y¨¡ṁ pañcaśaty¨¡ṁ saddharmavipralopak¨¡le vartam¨¡ne im¨¡nevaṁr¨±p¨¡n s¨±tr¨¡nt¨¡nudgrah¨©ṣyanti dh¨¡rayiṣyanti v¨¡cayiṣyanti paryav¨¡psyanti, parebhyaśca vistareṇa saṁprak¨¡śayiṣyanti, asya khalu punaḥ subh¨±te puṇyaskandhasy¨¡ntik¨¡dasau paurvakaḥ puṇyaskandhaḥ śatatam¨©mapi kal¨¡ṁ nopaiti, sahasratam¨©mapi śatasahasratam¨©mapi koṭimamipi koṭiśatatam¨©mapi koṭiśatasahasratam¨©mapi koṭiniyutaśatasahasratam¨©mapi| saṁkhy¨¡mapi kal¨¡mapi gaṇan¨¡mapi upam¨¡mapi upaniṣadamapi y¨¡vadaupamyamapi na kṣamate||

sacetpunaḥ subh¨±te teṣ¨¡ṁ kulaputr¨¡ṇ¨¡ṁ kuladuhitṝṇ¨¡ṁ v¨¡ ahaṁ puṇyaskandhaṁ bh¨¡ṣeyam, y¨¡vatte kulaputr¨¡ v¨¡ kuladuhitaro v¨¡ tasmin samaye puṇyaskandhaṁ prasaviṣyanti, pratigrah¨©ṣyanti, unm¨¡daṁ sattv¨¡ anupr¨¡pnuyuścittavikṣepaṁ v¨¡ gaccheyuḥ| api tu khalu punaḥ subh¨±te acintyo'tulyo'yaṁ dharmapary¨¡yastath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ| asya acintya eva vip¨¡kaḥ pratik¨¡ṅkṣitavyaḥ||16||

atha khalv¨¡yuṣm¨¡n subh¨±tirbhagavantametadavocat-kathaṁ bhagavan bodhisattvay¨¡nasaṁprasthitena sth¨¡tavyam, kathaṁ pratipattavyam, kathaṁ cittaṁ pragrah¨©tavyam ? bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-iha subh¨±te bodhisattvay¨¡nasaṁprasthitena evaṁ cittamutp¨¡dayitavyam-sarve sattv¨¡ may¨¡ anupadhiśeṣe nirv¨¡ṇadh¨¡tau parinirv¨¡payitavy¨¡ḥ| evaṁ sa sattv¨¡n parinirv¨¡pya na kaścitsattvaḥ parinirv¨¡pito bhavati| tatkasya hetoḥ ? sacetsubh¨±te bodhisattvasya sattvasaṁjñ¨¡ pravarteta, na sa bodhisattva iti vaktavyaḥ| j¨©vasaṁjñ¨¡ v¨¡ y¨¡vatpudgalasaṁjñ¨¡ v¨¡ pravarteta, na sa bodhisattva iti vaktavyaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ ? n¨¡sti subh¨±te sa kaściddharmo yo bodhisattvay¨¡nasaṁprasthito n¨¡ma||

tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te asti sa kaściddharmo yastath¨¡gatena d¨©paṁkarasya tath¨¡gatasy¨¡ntik¨¡danuttar¨¡ṁ samyaksaṁbodhimabhisaṁbuddhaḥ ? evamukte ¨¡yuṣm¨¡n subh¨±tirbhagavantametadavocat- yath¨¡haṁ bhagavato bh¨¡ṣitasy¨¡rtham¨¡j¨¡n¨¡mi, n¨¡sti sa bhagavan kaściddharmo yastath¨¡gatena d¨©paṁkarasya tath¨¡gatasy¨¡rhataḥ samyaksaṁbuddhasy¨¡ntik¨¡danuttar¨¡ṁ samyaksaṁbodhimabhisaṁbuddhaḥ| evamukte bhagav¨¡n¨¡yuṣmantaṁ subh¨±timetadavocat-evametatsubh¨±te, evametat| n¨¡sti subh¨±te sa kaściddharmo yastath¨¡gatena d¨©paṁkarasya tath¨¡gatasy¨¡rhataḥ samyaksaṁbuddhasy¨¡ntik¨¡danuttar¨¡ṁ samyaksaṁbodhimabhisaṁbuddhaḥ| sacetpunaḥ subh¨±te kaściddharmastath¨¡gaten¨¡bhisaṁbuddho'bhaviṣyat, na m¨¡ṁ d¨©paṁkarastath¨¡gato vy¨¡kariṣyat-bhaviṣyasi tvaṁ m¨¡ṇava an¨¡gate'dhvani ś¨¡kyamunirn¨¡ma tath¨¡gato'rhan samyaksaṁbuddha iti| yasm¨¡ttarhi subh¨±te tath¨¡gaten¨¡rhat¨¡ samyaksaṁbuddhena n¨¡sti sa kaściddharmo yo'nuttar¨¡ṁ samyaksaṁbodhimabhisaṁbuddhaḥ, tasm¨¡dahaṁ d¨©paṁkareṇa tath¨¡gatena vy¨¡kṛta- bhaviṣyasi tvaṁ m¨¡ṇava an¨¡gate'dhvani ś¨¡kyamunirn¨¡ma tath¨¡gato'rhan samyaksaṁbuddha| tatkasya hetoḥ ? tath¨¡gata iti subh¨±te bh¨±tatathat¨¡y¨¡ etadadhivacanam| tath¨¡gata iti subh¨±te anutp¨¡dadharmat¨¡y¨¡ etadadhivacanam| tath¨¡gata iti subh¨±te dharmocchedasyaitadadhivacanam| tath¨¡gata iti subh¨±te atyant¨¡nutpannasyaitadadhivacanam| tatkasya hetoḥ ? eṣa subh¨±te anutp¨¡do yaḥ param¨¡rthaḥ| yaḥ kaścitsubh¨±te evaṁ vadet-tath¨¡gaten¨¡rhat¨¡ samyaksaṁbuddhena anuttar¨¡ samyaksaṁbodhirabhisaṁbuddheti, sa vitathaṁ vadet| abhy¨¡cakṣ¨©ta m¨¡ṁ sa subh¨±te asatodgṛh¨©tena| tatkasya hetoḥ- ? n¨¡sti subh¨±te sa kaściddharmo yastath¨¡gatena anuttar¨¡ṁ samyaksaṁbodhimabhisaṁbuddhaḥ| yaśca subh¨±te tath¨¡gatena dharmo'bhisaṁbuddho deśito v¨¡ tatra na satyaṁ na mṛṣ¨¡| tasm¨¡ttath¨¡gato bh¨¡ṣate-sarvadharm¨¡ buddhadharm¨¡ iti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? sarvadharm¨¡ iti subh¨±te adharm¨¡stath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡ḥ| tasm¨¡ducyante sarvadharm¨¡ buddhadharm¨¡ iti||

tadyath¨¡pi n¨¡ma subh¨±te puruṣo bhavedupetak¨¡yo mah¨¡k¨¡yaḥ ? ¨¡yuṣm¨¡n subh¨±tir¨¡ha- yo'sau bhagavaṁstath¨¡gatena puruṣo bh¨¡ṣita upetak¨¡yo mah¨¡k¨¡ya iti, ak¨¡yaḥ sa bhagavaṁstath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ| tenocyate upetak¨¡yo mah¨¡k¨¡ya iti||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha -evametatsubh¨±te| yo bodhisattva evaṁ vadet-ahaṁ sattv¨¡n parinirv¨¡payiṣy¨¡miti, na sa bodhisattva iti vaktavyaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ ? asti subh¨±te sa kaściddharmo yo bodhisattvo n¨¡ma ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| n¨¡sti sa kaściddharmo yo bodhisattvo n¨¡ma| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- sattv¨¡ḥ sattv¨¡ iti subh¨±te asattv¨¡ste tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡ḥ, tenocyante sattv¨¡ iti| tasm¨¡ttath¨¡gato bh¨¡ṣate-nir¨¡tm¨¡naḥ sarvadharm¨¡ nirj¨©v¨¡ niṣpoṣ¨¡ niṣpudgal¨¡ḥ sarvadharm¨¡ iti||

yaḥ subh¨±te bodhisattva evaṁ vadet- ahaṁ kṣetravy¨±h¨¡nniṣp¨¡dayiṣy¨¡m¨©ti, sa vitathaṁ vadet| tatkasya hetoḥ ? kṣetravy¨±h¨¡ḥ kṣetravy¨±h¨¡ iti subh¨±te avy¨±h¨¡ste tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡ḥ| tenocyante kṣetravy¨±h¨¡ iti||

yaḥ subh¨±te bodhisattvo nir¨¡tm¨¡no dharm¨¡ nir¨¡tm¨¡no dharm¨¡ ityadhimucyate, tath¨¡gaten¨¡rhat¨¡ samyaksaṁbuddhena bodhisattvo mah¨¡sattva ity¨¡khy¨¡taḥ||17||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te-saṁvidyate tath¨¡gatasya m¨¡ṁsacakṣuḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha- evametadbhagavan, saṁvidyate tath¨¡gatasya m¨¡ṁsacakṣuḥ| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te saṁvidyate tath¨¡gatasya divyaṁ cakṣuḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-evametadbhagavan, saṁvidyate tath¨¡gatasya divyaṁ cakṣuḥ| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te saṁvidyate tath¨¡gatasya prajñ¨¡cakṣuḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-evametadbhagavan, saṁvidyate tath¨¡gatasya prajñ¨¡cakṣuḥ| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te saṁvidyate tath¨¡gatasya dharmacakṣuḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-evametadbhagavan, saṁvidyate tath¨¡gatasya dharmacakṣuḥ| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te saṁvidyate tath¨¡gatasya buddhacakṣuḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-evametadbhagavan, saṁvidyate tath¨¡gata buddhacakṣuḥ|

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te y¨¡vantyo gaṅg¨¡y¨¡ṁ mah¨¡nady¨¡ṁ v¨¡luk¨¡ḥ, api nu t¨¡ v¨¡luk¨¡stath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡ḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-evametadbhagavan, evametat sugata| bh¨¡ṣit¨¡stath¨¡gatena v¨¡luk¨¡ḥ| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te y¨¡vatyo gaṅg¨¡y¨¡ṁ mah¨¡nady¨¡ṁ v¨¡luk¨¡ḥ, t¨¡vatya eva gaṅg¨¡nadyo bhaveyuḥ, t¨¡su v¨¡ v¨¡luk¨¡ḥ, t¨¡vantaśca lokadh¨¡tavo bhaveyuḥ, kaccidbahavaste lokadh¨¡tavo bhaveyuḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-evametadbhagavan, evametat sugata| bahavaste lokadh¨¡tavo bhaveyuḥ| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-y¨¡vantaḥ subh¨±te teṣu lokadh¨¡tuṣu sattv¨¡ḥ, teṣ¨¡mahaṁ n¨¡n¨¡bh¨¡v¨¡ṁ cittadh¨¡r¨¡ṁ praj¨¡n¨¡mi| tatkasya hetoḥ ? cittadh¨¡r¨¡ cittadh¨¡reti subh¨±te adh¨¡raiṣ¨¡ tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡, tenocyate cittadh¨¡reti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? at¨©taṁ subh¨±te cittaṁ nopalabhyate| an¨¡gataṁ cittaṁ nopalabhyate| pratyutpannaṁ cittaṁ nopalabhyate||18||

tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te yaḥ kaścitkulaputro v¨¡ kuladuhit¨¡ v¨¡ imaṁ tris¨¡hasramah¨¡s¨¡hasraṁ lokadh¨¡tuṁ saptaratnaparip¨±rṇaṁ kṛtv¨¡ tath¨¡gatebhyo'rhadbhayaḥ samyaksaṁbuddhebhyo d¨¡naṁ dady¨¡t, api nu sa kulaputro v¨¡ kuladuhit¨¡ v¨¡ tatonid¨¡naṁ bahu puṇyaskandhaṁ prasunuy¨¡t ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha- bahu bhagavan, bahu sugata| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-evametatsubh¨±te, evametat| bahu sa kulaputro v¨¡ kuladuhit¨¡ v¨¡ tatonid¨¡naṁ puṇyaskandhaṁ prasunuy¨¡daprameyamasaṁkhyeyam| tatkasya hetoḥ ? puṇyaskandhaḥ puṇyaskandha iti subh¨±te askandhaḥ sa tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ| tenocyate puṇyaskandha iti| sacet punaḥ subh¨±te puṇyaskandho'bhaviṣyat, na tath¨¡gato'bh¨¡ṣiṣyat puṇyaskandhaḥ puṇyaskandha iti||19||

tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te r¨±pak¨¡yapariniṣpatty¨¡ tath¨¡gato draṣṭavyaḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| na r¨±pak¨¡yapariniṣpatty¨¡ tath¨¡gato draṣṭavyaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ ? r¨±pak¨¡yapariniṣpatt¨© r¨±pak¨¡yapariniṣpattiriti bhagavan apariniṣpattireṣ¨¡ tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡| tenocyate r¨±pak¨¡yapariniṣpattiriti||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te lakṣaṇasaṁpad¨¡ tath¨¡gato draṣṭavyaḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagav¨¡n| na lakṣaṇasaṁpad¨¡ tath¨¡gato draṣṭavyaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaiṣ¨¡ bhagavan lakṣaṇasaṁpattath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡, alakṣaṇasaṁpadeṣ¨¡ tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡| tenocyate lakṣaṇasaṁpaditi||20||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te api nu tath¨¡gatasyaivaṁ bhavati-may¨¡ dharmo deśita iti ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan tath¨¡gatasyaivaṁ bhavati-may¨¡ dharmo deśita iti| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-yaḥ subh¨±te evaṁ vadet- tath¨¡gatena dharmo deśita iti, sa vitathaṁ vadet| abhy¨¡cakṣ¨©ta m¨¡ṁ sa subh¨±te asatodgṛh¨©tena| tatkasya hetoḥ ? dharmadeśan¨¡ dharmadeśaneti subh¨±te n¨¡sti sa kaściddharmo yo dharmadeśan¨¡ n¨¡mopalabhyate||

evamukte ¨¡yuṣm¨¡n subh¨±tirbhagavantametadavocat-asti bhagavan kecitsattv¨¡ bhaviṣyantyan¨¡gate'dhvani paścime k¨¡le paścime samaye paścim¨¡y¨¡ṁ pañcaśaty¨¡ṁ saddharmavipralope vartam¨¡ne, ya im¨¡nevaṁr¨±p¨¡n dharm¨¡n śrutv¨¡ abhiśraddh¨¡syanti| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- na te subh¨±te sattv¨¡ n¨¡sattv¨¡ḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ ? sattv¨¡ḥ sattv¨¡ iti subh¨±te sarve te subh¨±te asattv¨¡stath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡ḥ| tenocyante sattv¨¡ iti||21||

tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te-api nu asti sa kaściddharmaḥ, yastath¨¡gaten¨¡nuttar¨¡ṁ samyaksaṁbodhimabhisaṁbuddhaḥ ? ¨¡yuṣm¨¡n subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| n¨¡sti sa bhagavan kaściddharmo yastath¨¡gaten¨¡nuttar¨¡ṁ samyaksaṁbodhimabhisaṁbuddhaḥ| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-evametatsubh¨±te, evametat| aṇurapi tatra dharmo na saṁvidyate nopalabhyate| tenocyate anuttar¨¡ samyaksaṁbodhiriti||22||

api tu khalu punaḥ subh¨±te samaḥ sa dharmo na tatra kaścidviṣamaḥ| tenocyate anuttar¨¡ samyaksaṁbodhiriti| nir¨¡tmatvena niḥsattvatvena nirj¨©vatvena niṣpudgalatvena sam¨¡ s¨¡ anuttar¨¡ samyaksaṁbodhiḥ sarvaiḥ kuśalairdharmairabhisaṁbudhyate| tatkasya hetoḥ ? kuśal¨¡ dharm¨¡ḥ kuśal¨¡ dharm¨¡ iti subh¨±te adharm¨¡ścaiva te tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡ḥ| tenocyante kuśal¨¡ dharm¨¡ iti||23||

yaśca khalu punaḥ subhute str¨© v¨¡ puruṣo v¨¡ y¨¡vantastris¨¡hasramah¨¡s¨¡hasre lokadh¨¡tau sumeravaḥ parvatar¨¡j¨¡naḥ, t¨¡vato r¨¡ś¨©n sapt¨¡n¨¡ṁ ratn¨¡n¨¡mabhisaṁhṛtya tath¨¡gatebhyo'rhadbhayaḥ samyaksaṁbuddhebhyo d¨¡naṁ dady¨¡t, yaśca kulaputro v¨¡ kuladuhit¨¡ v¨¡ itaḥ prajñ¨¡p¨¡ramit¨¡y¨¡ dharmapary¨¡y¨¡dantaśaścatuṣp¨¡dik¨¡mapi g¨¡th¨¡mudgṛhya parebhyo deśayet, asya subh¨±te puṇyaskandhasya asau paurvakaḥ puṇyaskandhaḥ śatatam¨©mapi kal¨¡ṁ nopaiti, y¨¡vadupaniṣadamapi na kṣamate||24||

tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te-api nu tath¨¡gatasyaivaṁ bhavati-may¨¡ sattv¨¡ḥ parimocit¨¡ iti? na khalu punaḥ subh¨±te evaṁ draṣṭavyam| tatkasya hetoḥ ? n¨¡sti subh¨±te kaścitsattvo yastath¨¡gatena parimocitaḥ| yadi punaḥ subh¨±te kaścitsattvo'bhaviṣyadyastath¨¡gatena parimocitaḥ sy¨¡t, sa eva tath¨¡gatasy¨¡tmagr¨¡ho'bhaviṣyat, sattvagr¨¡ho j¨©vagr¨¡haḥ pudgalagr¨¡ho'bhaviṣyat| ¨¡tmagr¨¡ha iti subh¨±te agr¨¡ha eṣa tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ| sa ca b¨¡lapṛthagjanairudgṛh¨©taḥ| b¨¡lapṛthagjan¨¡ iti subh¨±te ajan¨¡ eva te tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡ḥ| tenocyante b¨¡lapṛthagjan¨¡ iti||25||

tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te-lakṣaṇasaṁpad¨¡ tath¨¡gato draṣṭavyaḥ ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan| yath¨¡haṁ bhagavato bh¨¡ṣitasy¨¡rtham¨¡j¨¡n¨¡mi, na lakṣaṇasaṁpad¨¡ tath¨¡gato draṣṭavyaḥ| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-s¨¡dhu s¨¡dhu subh¨±te, evametatsubh¨±te, evametadyath¨¡ vadasi| na lakṣaṇasaṁpad¨¡ tath¨¡gato draṣṭavyaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ ? sacetpunaḥ subh¨±te lakṣaṇasaṁpad¨¡ tath¨¡gato draṣṭavyo'bhaviṣyat, r¨¡j¨¡pi cakravart¨© tath¨¡gato'bhaviṣyat| tasm¨¡nna lakṣaṇasaṁpad¨¡ tath¨¡gato draṣṭavyaḥ| ¨¡yuṣm¨¡n subhutirbhagavantametadavocat-yath¨¡haṁ bhagavato bh¨¡ṣitasy¨¡rtham¨¡j¨¡n¨¡mi, na lakṣaṇasaṁpad¨¡ tath¨¡gato draṣṭavyaḥ||

atha khalu bhagav¨¡ṁstasy¨¡ṁ vel¨¡y¨¡mime g¨¡the abh¨¡ṣata-
ye m¨¡ṁ r¨±peṇa c¨¡dr¨¡kṣurye m¨¡ṁ ghoṣeṇa c¨¡nvaguḥ|
mithy¨¡prah¨¡ṇaprasṛt¨¡ na m¨¡ṁ drakṣyanti te jan¨¡ḥ||1||

dharmato buddho draṣṭavyo dharmak¨¡y¨¡ hi n¨¡yak¨¡ḥ|
dharmat¨¡ ca na vijñey¨¡ na s¨¡ śaky¨¡ vij¨¡nitum||2||26||

tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te lakṣaṇasaṁpad¨¡ tath¨¡gatena anuttar¨¡ samyaksaṁbodhirabhisaṁbuddh¨¡? na khalu punaste subh¨±te evaṁ draṣṭavyam| tatkasya hetoḥ ? na hi subh¨±te lakṣaṇasaṁpad¨¡ tath¨¡gatena anuttar¨¡ samyaksaṁbodhirabhisaṁbuddh¨¡ sy¨¡t| na khalu punaste subh¨±te kaścidevaṁ vadet-bodhisattvay¨¡nasaṁprasthitaiḥ kasyaciddharmasya vin¨¡śaḥ prajñaptaḥ ucchedo veti| na khalu punaste subh¨±te evaṁ draṣṭavyam| tatkasya hetoḥ ? na bodhisattvay¨¡nasaṁprasthitaiḥ kasyaciddharmasya vin¨¡śaḥ prajñapto nocchedaḥ||27||

yaśca khalu punaḥ subh¨±te kulaputro v¨¡ kuladuhit¨¡ v¨¡ gaṅg¨¡nad¨©v¨¡luk¨¡sam¨¡llokadh¨¡t¨±n saptaratnaparip¨±rṇaṁ kṛtv¨¡ tath¨¡gatebhyo'rhadbhayaḥ samyaksaṁbuddhebhyo d¨¡naṁ dady¨¡t, yaśca bodhisattvo nir¨¡tmakeṣvanutpattikeṣu dharmeṣu kṣ¨¡ntiṁ pratilabhate, ayameva tatonid¨¡naṁ bahutaraṁ puṇyaskandhaṁ prasavedaprameyamasaṁkhyeyam| na khalu punaḥ subh¨±te bodhisattvena mah¨¡sattvena puṇyaskandhaḥ parigrah¨©tavyaḥ| ¨¡yuṣm¨¡n subh¨±tir¨¡ha- nanu bhagavan bodhisattvena puṇyaskandhaḥ parigrah¨©tavyaḥ ? bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-parigrah¨©tavyaḥ subh¨±te no grah¨©tavyaḥ| tenocyate parigrah¨©tavya iti||28||

api tu khalu punaḥ subh¨±te yaḥ kaścidevaṁ vadet-tath¨¡gato gacchati v¨¡ ¨¡gacchati v¨¡ tiṣṭhati v¨¡ niṣ¨©dati v¨¡, śayy¨¡ṁ v¨¡ kalpayati, na me subh¨±te (sa) bh¨¡ṣitasy¨¡rtham¨¡j¨¡n¨¡ti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? tath¨¡gata iti subh¨±te ucyate na kvacidgato na kutaścid¨¡gataḥ| tenocyate tath¨¡gato'rhan samyaksaṁbuddha iti||29||

yaśca khalu punaḥ subh¨±te kulaputro v¨¡ kuladuhit¨¡ v¨¡ y¨¡vanti tris¨¡hasramah¨¡s¨¡hasre lokadh¨¡tau pṛthiv¨©raj¨¡ṁsi, t¨¡vat¨¡ṁ lokadh¨¡t¨±n¨¡mevaṁr¨±paṁ maṣiṁ kury¨¡t y¨¡vadevamasaṁkhyeyena v¨©ryeṇa tadyath¨¡pi n¨¡ma param¨¡ṇusaṁcayaḥ, tatkiṁ manyase subh¨±te-api nu bahuḥ sa param¨¡ṇusaṁcayo bhavet ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-evametadbhagavan, evametatsugata| bahuḥ sa param¨¡ṇusaṁcayo bhavet| tatkasya hetoḥ ? sacedbhagavan bahuḥ param¨¡ṇusaṁcayo'bhaviṣyat, na bhagav¨¡navakṣyat-param¨¡ṇusaṁcaya iti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? yo'sau bhagavan param¨¡ṇusaṁcayastath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ, asaṁcayaḥ sa tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ| tenocyate param¨¡ṇusaṁcaya iti| yaśca tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitastris¨¡hasramah¨¡s¨¡hasro lokadh¨¡turiti, adh¨¡tuḥ sa tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ| tenocyate tris¨¡hasramah¨¡s¨¡hasro lokadh¨¡turiti| tatkasya hetoḥ ? sacedbhagavan lokadh¨¡turabhaviṣyat, sa eva piṇḍagr¨¡ho'bhaviṣyat| yaścaiva piṇḍagr¨¡hastath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ, agr¨¡haḥ sa tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣitaḥ| tenocyate piṇḍagr¨¡ha iti| bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha- piṇḍagr¨¡haścaiva subh¨±te avyavah¨¡ro'nabhil¨¡pyaḥ| na sa dharmo n¨¡dharmaḥ| sa ca b¨¡lapṛthagjanairudgṛh¨©taḥ||30||

tatkasya hetoḥ ? yo hi kaścitsubh¨±te evaṁ vadet-¨¡tmadṛṣṭistath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡, sattvadṛṣṭirj¨©vadṛṣṭiḥ pudgaladṛṣṭistath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡, api nu sa subh¨±te samyagvadam¨¡no vadet ? subh¨±tir¨¡ha-no h¨©daṁ bhagavan, no h¨©daṁ sugata, na samyagvadam¨¡no vadet| tatkasya hetoḥ ? y¨¡ s¨¡ bhagavan ¨¡tmadṛṣṭistath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡, adṛṣṭiḥ s¨¡ tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡| tenocyate ¨¡tmadṛṣṭiriti||

bhagav¨¡n¨¡ha-evaṁ hi subh¨±te bodhisattvay¨¡nasaṁprasthitena sarvadharm¨¡ jñ¨¡tavy¨¡ draṣṭavy¨¡ adhimoktavy¨¡ḥ| tath¨¡ca jñ¨¡tavy¨¡ draṣṭavy¨¡ adhimoktavy¨¡ḥ, yath¨¡ na dharmasaṁjñ¨¡y¨¡mapi pratyupatiṣṭhenn¨¡dharmasaṁjñ¨¡y¨¡m| tatkasya hetoḥ ? dharmasaṁjñ¨¡ dharmasaṁjñeti subh¨±te asaṁjñaiṣ¨¡ tath¨¡gatena bh¨¡ṣit¨¡| tenocyate dharmasaṁjñeti||31||

yaśca khalu punaḥ subh¨±te bodhisattvo mah¨¡sattvo'pramey¨¡nasaṁkhyey¨¡ṁllokadh¨¡t¨±n saptaratnaparip¨±rṇaṁ kṛtv¨¡ tath¨¡gatebhyo'rhadbhayaḥ samyaksaṁbuddhebhyo d¨¡naṁ dady¨¡t, yaśca kulaputro v¨¡ kuladuhit¨¡ v¨¡ itaḥ prajñ¨¡p¨¡ramit¨¡y¨¡ dharmapary¨¡y¨¡dantaśaścatuṣp¨¡dik¨¡mapi g¨¡th¨¡mudgṛhya dh¨¡rayeddeśayedv¨¡cayet paryav¨¡pnuy¨¡t, parebhyaśca vistareṇa saṁprak¨¡śayet, ayameva tatonid¨¡naṁ bahutaraṁ puṇyaskandhaṁ prasunuy¨¡daprameyamasaṁkhyeyam| kathaṁ ca saṁprak¨¡śayet ? tadyath¨¡k¨¡śe-

t¨¡rak¨¡ timiraṁ d¨©po m¨¡y¨¡vaśy¨¡ya budbudam|
svapnaṁ ca vidyudabhraṁ ca evaṁ draṣṭavya saṁskṛtam||
tath¨¡ prak¨¡śayet, tenocyate saṁprak¨¡śayediti||

idamavocadbhagav¨¡n ¨¡ttaman¨¡ḥ| sthavirasubh¨±tiste ca bhikṣubhikṣuṇyup¨¡sakop¨¡sik¨¡ste ca bodhisattv¨¡ḥ sadevam¨¡nuṣ¨¡suragandharvaśca loko bhagavato bh¨¡ṣitamabhyanandanniti||32||
